Case Study

#6 Full steam ahead

Challenge

On big projects involving many people, teams can lose focus and projects stall. This happened at a chocolatier famous for ‘spoiling us’.

Their European task-team could not agree on how to implement a new advertising approach, so briefs for TV and digital piled-up and they were in danger of missing on-air deadlines.

Solution

To get back on-track, we talked to head office, country directors and local marketers one-by-one and discovered that needs and expectations were surprisingly similar.

By playing-back the findings to the task-team, everyone got excited, because they realised the project was achievable. Motivated afresh, we agreed an implementation plan with each player clear on what was expected, when and whose sign-off was needed.

We set-up cloud working for collaboration and smart scheduling tools. Weekly video conferencing calls enabled team members to be updated from their offices across Europe and the project progressed quickly.

Result

Within one month, the new advertising process was approved by head office and national campaign briefings followed in UK, France, Italy, Germany and Spain. The creative backlog was swiftly cleared, with all online creative and TV ads airing in good time for Christmas.
